I was shooting
the Wednesday Night Races at Sagamore Yacht Club in Oyster Bay, NY while
crewing on Liberty. On still nights, it was easy, but when the wind
gusts topped 40 I did not have enough hands for the boat, myself, and
the camera. Although I got some great images, I moved to the committee
boat where I could use longer lenses (or wider lens as the mood struck).
I am now shooting more than 6,000 (yes thousand) yacht racing photos a
